1st antique tractor-need input

I have two modern tractors, a Ford 6600 and a 1910 I use on my place. I am looking for my 1st antique tractor and am drawn to the Continental/Farmall/IH O4, W4, W6, W9 type tractors. I don't know much about them. Were they made in both gas and diesel? It seems there were lots of IHs made so parts whould be somewhat easier to get than some off brand. I have ordered some books to research subject. Any comments on these tractors or things to steer clear of?
