1950 H Clutch Question

I was driving my 1950 H enjoying the day, put it in reverse to turn around, pushed in the clutch to change directions, but no response. I had to shut it off to stop. I put it in neutral, started the engine, pushed in the clutch, but I was unable to engage any gear. All I heard was grinding. Also, there was no tension on the clutch pedal when it was pushed in. Is clutch adjustment my problem, or is it more serious? How easy is it to access the clutch components on my H?
