Are you sure this is a condenser (or called capacitor today). What you think is a condenser could be the voltage droping resistor for a 6 volt coil. I have seen where people have put this resistor in series between the coil and distributor. I don't like that type of a setup. If you have a 6 volt coil, you should have a resistor in series with the wire coming from the switch to the coil. Do not remove this resistor!
