Hi, we haven't had a 384 since 1993 but I seem to remember that the bolt had a concave washer on the bottom tht fit against the filter canister and the "O" ring on the bolt was on the inside of the filter canister held down by a spring and washer.

Is this the way yours is assembled or is my memory fading ?
