IH intended for you to use the remote valve (Christmas tree) for the remote cylinders, but you don't have to. You can simply run a hose to the rear, put a quick disconnect on it and plug in a one way cylinder, or a 2 way with the down port vented. You can put collars on the cylinder to set the proper depth, so all you have to do is push the hyd lever all the way down. And you can lift it a little at a time if you want to, although that method probably works better with the remote valve. Remote valve gives 2 way hydraulics, without it you have one way. The cylinders you have now were for cultivators, or other mounted equipment. So the intention was for the main control to be for cylinders for mounted equipment, the remote valve for trailing equipment, so that you didn't have to be changing hoses around when you switched from mounted to trailing.
