Clean it up good so you can see, there are snap rings in the grooves of the bearing caps on the inside of each of the four "ears". Remove the snap rings, you can rotate them in the groove until you get a good shot at the end with a screw driver. With the snap rings removed you can use two sockets to drive the cross one way to remove the first bearing cap and then back the other way to remove the second cap. Repeat for the other two caps. Place the joint on a socket that is large enough to let the bearing cap go down inside of it when you strike the other end with a socket that is small enough to go inside the hole in the "ears". With the caps removed the cross comes out easily. Reverse the procedure to install the new joint. Hope this makes sense. If not, let me know and I'll try again.
