Assuming the engine turns W/starter, and the rotor does not. 1}look inside dist. backing plate to see if centrifugal advance parts are moving when cranking --if not pull dist.off of hyd pump. if they are, repait the advance springs etc, just under the breaker plate. 2) w/the dist. off see if the hyd pump turns when cranking. if yes the dist. shaft drive is broken. if not pull hyd. pump from front drive housing. 3}look into pump hole and see if gears/drive is turning when cranking. if not the gears are toothless. (requires disassembly of front cover) JimN
