Were the bearings good with no play. Any play and you will have a leak. The main shaft must have a smooth good surface for the seal to run on. I've done two of these and on one of them, I used a "Speedy Sleeve" to give a new surface for the seal. The installation tool that came with the sleeve would not work, had to make one out of some PVC pipe. No leaks on that one, the other had a better main shaft. It seeps just enought to catch some dust. Also, did you check the seal holder very carefully. These are frequently cracked. I had to replace one of these.
