There's an outfit from TN called Paperpulleys.com that makes the old style laminated paper pulleys exactly like they were originally. I have gotten two restored pulleys from them and they are excellent. I asked them on the phone about care and feeding of these pulleys and they recommended periodically rubbing them down with boiled linseed oil to keep them from drying out too much. Also said that you should probably go ahead and remove them from the tractor if the tractor is to be parked outside all winter uncovered and store them inside. While the cast iron pulleys were easier to make, the paper pulleys are preferred as they have more of a texture with which to grab the belt making them harder to slip. I have a steel pulley on my 2N with a paper pulley on the cordwood saw and the paper pulley holds the belt a lot better. I also have an unrestored paper pulley for the tractor, but haven't gotten around to sending it off to the guys in TN yet.
