Make sure the back of the brush hog is slightly higher than the front. If it's lower you cut the weeds as you come in to them, then as the blade swings to the bach you are trying to cut it stll shorter, so in effect you are cutting the full circle when you should only be cutting partial circle. This is the most common cause of not enough poweer complaints. Park the rig on a flat surface and measure blades to ground clearence front & back. You don't need much - 1/4" higher in back is good enough.
