Those transmissions and final drives do make a whining noise. I would change the transmission fluid. The drain is in the rear, under the PTO shaft and the fill plug is by the shift lever. The level check is a pipe plug on the left side of the tranny behind the brake rod. You should also change the fluid in the final drives by removing the pans at the bottom to drain the fluid and clean the pans out. Put them back on with new gaskets and fill thru the level check plug which is just above the pan gasket. 2 gallons of 85W90 should be all you need. Dave.
