Your local metal shop can probably make you a new tank. We had stainless steel burrettes made for measuring fuel consumption. We had them from 1 gallon to 50 gallons. An engine doesn't care where the fuel is coming from as long the tank is vented and clean. We used 3-way valves on the feed and return to bypass the vehicle's fuel tank
