If it is leaking the oil goes into the crankcase. If so your engine oil will be overfull. The whining can be caused by lift box being out of adjustment. It is critical that it be adjusted properly. If you can't do it, you should have someone who can look at soon. This is covered in the IT manual under stop clip adjustment.
