1. Open the high speed FUEL mixture screw so you can run at max RPM's, let the engine warm up, & re-adjust the high speed screw for max speed & smoothness. Add 1/2-3/4 turn out for extra power. 2. Idle the engine & adjust the idle AIR screw for smoothest running & turn the screw IN 1/4 turn extra for a bit of richness to reduce acceleration stumble & the need for choke. 3. Re-set the idle speed to 500 RPM or so. 4. Now repeat the entire process to verify all screw settings. Service manual & carb kit instruction settings will just get you "in the ballpark" so you can make the final adjustments. If any screw adjustments cannot be performed, the carb needs cleaning.
