Hello,
Sorry when I first posted this I called a my tractor a 242, it a 1966 IH 424 Diesel, sorry.
Never owned a tractor. Bought a 1966 424 Diesel tractor. The guy I bought it from said it was running last year but not when I bought it. I am a good mechanic but I have never worked on a diesel.
The diesel tank was not on it and the fuel lines had to be replaced. Got it put back together and I am now working on venting the fuel system and ran into a jam.
The manuals I have tell you the sequence on how to vent the system and I have fuel all the way to the “Head locking screw vent valve” on the injector pump but it will not go any further. The “fuel stop control button” is all the way in and the shut off lever on the top of the injector pump is all the way forward, but I cant get fuel out to any of the injector lines.
