I have an IHC vertical distributor on an 1949 M that was a replacemnt for magneto. It has the IH part number cast in the housing. It's the same parts number as the no. in the parts book for the horizintal disreibutor. The replacement parts(points, condenser, rotor & cap)are the same as the horizontal IH ones and are available from Case/IH, NAPA and other parts houses. The visual differnce is the vertical distance between the base of the distributor down to where it bolts to upright base is approx. 1 1/4 in. as compared to the Delco-Reme which is about 2 in. plus. The Delco also has it's part no. cast in it's base and also has a Delco- Reme itentificaion plate attached. Another diference is the Delco distributor cap has a lip that extends over the base and the IH does not.
