Don't know if this posted earlier, will try again. After replying to post by nodonutz about the resistor on my Super M, I have a question. While restoring the old girl, I removed dist cap for painting. Marked the wires on the cap to be sure to get them back on correct plugs, etc. When we put the cap back on, she wouldn't start. Talked to a local mechanic who has dealt with Farmalls for years and he said sounded to him like it was out of time. Checked tdc on #1 plug, all was right. Come to find out, it was timed 180d out! Didnt want to pull dist, so he came and we figured out wiring scheme. The old girl runs fine, but was wondering if timed 180 out, would it cause excessive gas usage?
