I just worked on a friends Super C that had a problem like you describe. His would not run well at all, especially at full throttle and the plugs carboned up really bad. And it was hard to start. All I did to it was set the timing and now it runs great. It starts on the first turn now. So, check the timing. If you need to know how to do it, let me know.
