Obviously every field is different, but still, overall it's a tough call.
I've still got standing water in places that are usually just a little soft. It's been there since Irene, and it's just not going anywhere.
Betweent that hurricane, and the storms after it, the ground got totally saturated.
But, in areas with good drainage, it's perfect for plowing. Not too dry, not too wet.
Have only done a little plowing myself, but we've been haying a lot. The grounds not too wet for that. Hay's been drying out just fine, tractors aren't sinking in anywhere.
If it were me I'd risk it. You might be pleasantly surprised. Not sure how far you're driving though.
I'm in MA, about 10 minutes over the border to CT.
I'd recommend you call Foskett Equipment in Woodstock CT. 860-928-5748
I'm sure the guys there will be able to give you an answer you can trust.
In fact, if you're doing a plowing demo in eastern CT, some of those guys will probably be there too.
And if you break anything, or find you need any parts while you're out that way, those guys are the ones to call.
