Two issues as potential sources of the drag: If thwe friction disk was accidently bent when putting the two halves of the tractor back together, it will drag substantially. If the splines on the clutch shaft are worn, the new disk will bind on them and be forced into the Flywheel. Either will require a resplit. Using a dremel grinder to dress the splines so the wear is not an edge, or removing .065" depth of the splines in the clutch disk hub to allow it to wear where the other disk was happy will also work.
Putting the disk on the shaft when split and turning the shaft will show if there is an issue with a warped hub from installation. Jim
