You are correct Operator Manual has a wiring diagram that is worthless. Maybe makes sense to UK trained Electrical Engineer!!! The best diagram was in our 454 Operator's Manual, my Dad loaned it to a neighbour who had a 574 and he died suddenly and family had an auction sale and manual was gone!!
Most wiring problems are caused by a bad ground or the molex plug that is under the rear seat. There is one ground by from of rad that is used for head lights and another ground at back of seat on a bolt that holds the deck plate on. Sometimes wiring harness gets frayed under the sheet metal cover over the transmission or under the deck plate that the seat sits on. Fuses rarely blow.
