Carb does have a tag on it, number 771SA and under that has M1 with a 5 under it. A quick search shows it's a Carter carb. According to the tractor serial number the tractor is a 1952. I do think the quality of gas is not very good at some places. I noticed with my van that my fuel mileage dropped whenever I got gas at one station but van started, ran fine. Wonder if I might have got the gas there, remember buying 5 gallons for the tractor. No alcohol gas sounds like a good idea. Tractor has been sitting outside, was kept in an unheated garage since I bought it about 6 years ago and never had a problem. but left outside once weather started to warm up, needed the garage space. I guess being inside might make a difference but for years these tractors have set outside so think gas does make a difference. Thanks all
