I have purchased an extremely clean and low houred 1968 Farmall 656. Problem is, it sat many, many years with a battery that leaked acid all over the shifter linkage and shift rails. I have removed the platform and cleaned all I can, but the shift rails that the shift forks mount on are going to have to be replaced due to a significant amount of corrosion on them where the seal rides. As of yet, I still haven't gotten them to move anyhow. Any suggestions on how to do this? I am hopping I can remove the seat and fenders, and pull the whole three point assembly and trans cover together as one unit. Is this possible once I remove the lift arms? Any other seals etc. I should replace while I have it open? Thanks in advance for all your replies!
