I am in the process of putting a 301 in my 460. I have it installed but will not run when timed correctly. I have put #1 tdc checked timing marks on the cam gear and crank gear and there meshed together with the marks perfect and the rotor button is pointing towards #1 cylinder . The firing order on the block 1-5-3-6-2-4 distributor turns ccw. I hook the wires to the cap nothing . I pulled the distributor out and rotated 180 degrees it hit and run changed plugs around to smooth it out . The tractor will start and run this way! I am at my wits end with this thing. I have put a silver diamond head on it also and it is firing out the cap on all six wires . Nothing about it makes sense . If any one has any ideas I sure would appreciate it.
