Tractor Stories

The John Deere Putt-Putt |
Once upon a time, I found a tractor flipped over in the ditch.
I asked my dad if I could have it. He said "Maybe". Then we
went and pulled it out of the ditch. We asked my dad's friend if
we could use his trailer to haul the tractor. We then pushed the
tractor onto the trailer and took it home. I put it into our barn.
I had my dad to look up farmer parts and we ordered the parts we
needed. I put the parts in the tractor. We put diesel fuel in the
tractor. My dad pulled up the pickup and jump started the tractor.
The tractor went "putt-putt". I turned off the tractor. Next,
I spray painted it green and yellow. It was now winter. I pushed
the snow with my new tractor. One spring night, it had started
to rain. My barn had a leak and the water was dripping onto a tire.
I had forgotten to put a tarp over my John Deere tractor. My dad
came out and said "You can keep the tractor". My mom and sister
came out and I gave them a ride on the tractor. The End.

Grandpa's Tractor |
I live in a city. There are no tractors here. My Grandma and
Grandpa live on a farm. My Grandpa has tractors in the barn. When
school is out I get to go to the farm for two weeks. My favorite
thing to do is to ride on the tractor with Grandpa. Somtimes he
lets me steer. His dog Jumper runs along side the tractor. Jumper is
my friend. I can't wait for summer.

A Tractor Named Bouncer |
If I had ten dollars I would buy me a blue tractor. I
would keep it in the barn right beside my Dad's tractor. I
would name it Bouncer. I would help my Dad do all his work
so he would have more time to play with me. I will be eight
years old in July, maybe I will get ten dollars from my Grandma
and surprise my Dad with my new blue tractor named Bouncer.

Johnny Putt-Putt |
Johnny Putt-Putt was farmer Fred's favorite tractor of all.
One day farmer Fred was plowing on the hill that had
a shallow murky pond at the bottom. Johnny came to
a mud hole. The tractor started slipping and sliding till
he accidentally slid into the swampy pond. The farmer couldn't
get him out, so he went back to his barn and got another tractor and
some chains to pull Johnny out with. This time farmer Fred was
careful to go around the mud. When he got to Johnny he
carefully hooked up the chains. Then he got onto the other tractor
and put it into gear. Then he let off the clutch. The
tractor inched forward slowly. Finally, Johnny and the plow came up
out of the pond. When they got home that evening, the farmer, Fred
was glad he had saved Johnny and the plow. The next day was the
farmer's birthday. His wife baked a big cake. Fred was very
happy. The End

My name is Nicole. I'm 9 years old. My father owns a farm
in Annapolis, MD. It's a Christmas tree farm called Masque
Farm. My father owns 4 tractors, 2 Kubotas, a Gravely and a
Ford. (He likes the Ford best, but the Kubota's work.) Even though
it's very close to town, there are lots of deer. My dad saw 12
last night. Back to tractor - My great-grandfather had a
Ford 8N. This farm has been a farm for over 300 years. When
my father was growing up, there were chickens, ducks, geese, sheep,
pigs, horses and cows. Part of it is on Crab Creek. The thing I
like about it most is not going there (unless we're selling trees,
sometimes). We live about 10 minutes away. Recently my daddy built
a small pole barn. He spends a lot of time there. Almost 15 hours.
I like tractors.

My name is Kevin and my dad has a 1950 Ford 8N. My dad's
friend Captain Woody bought this tractor, but had no place
to keep it, so he dropped it off in my yard; Just for a
month or two. I used to get on the tractor and imagine that
I was driving it. Two years later Captain Woody decided he
couldn't fix the tractor so my dad bought it from him. It
looked like a piece of junk. My dad took it apart. Currently it
is in pieces and parts. He sent the motor off to be rebuilt.
We just got the motor back a few weeks ago. As my dad and I
took it apart we talked about what the pieces do and
how things work. We expect to use it as a lawn mower.
I look forward to driving it one day.

Trackters by: Stevie |
Hi I am Stevie! I am 8 years old. And I am here to talk
about trackters. Here we go! Trackters are for farms.
My Dad's trackter has the color red. John Deeres have
the color green. And some John Deeres have a color of
yellow. All trackters have engines. Engines make the
trackter go. There are different kinds of trackters in
the world. That's all for today. The End.

About the Tractor Crashing |
Once upon a time, there was a little boy
and he had a tractor but then he crashed it
and then he fixed it and then he drove it
again and then he crashed it again then he
drove it and all of a sudden he heard Daddy
calling "Kyle Kyle, I need to show you
something"! He saw a real tractor but it
didn't have any pedals, just a little tractor,
and he told Daddy how to use it and Daddy
tried it and he fixed it. The End.

In the 1950's my Great Great Grandpa bought a Allis-Chalmers C
in Iowa. He used it for hauling & plowing snow up North in
Browerville, Minnesota. Then he died and my Grandpa got
the tractor and he used it for plowing also snow in Anaka MN,
till the 1980's and it got old and rusty and my Grandpa gave
it to my Dad. And my Dad rebuilt the motor, put new tires on it,
painted it the original color "Allis Chalmers orange". Now he
uses it for snow & hauling in St. Francis MN.

The Stolen Tractor |
Once upon a time there was a Super C. It was in
the Junk Yard. A boy put it on a flatbed and brought
it to his house. They fixed it up. They painted
hundreds of different colors. They put it in a
contest. They won the gold medallion. It was
in newsletters, newspapers, and on computer home
pages. One day they went shopping. They forgot
about the tractor and it was stolen. The cops
came. It was too late. They took it apart. The
robber went to jail and they lived happily ever
after. The End.

The Tractor |
There was an old tractor and it was very rusty.
One day, it rolled down the hill into the mud
puddle. A guy pulled it out of the mud puddle
and then he painted it up. He rolled it out into the
sun to dry. When the tractor was dry, he drove it
around a little bit. The guy parked it in his red
barn when he was done driving it. The End.

Restoration Story: 1964 JD 2010 Dsl - Part 2 - by Jim Nielsen. Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal. As a resul
