ERTL vs SPEC CAST

So far I have purchased only a few SPEC CAST tractors and I can say they suffer compared to ERTL. I just ordered a SC AC175 and the front wheels bow badly, the steering doesn't hardly turn, and it has generally a cheaper apearance than many of my other tractors. Is ERTL that far ahead in production quality?
