In regards to gassing your gophers.. We use the same technique on wild house cats in the barn. Sometimes these wild cats breed so rapidly that they become extremely hungry that they aggressively attack just about every living thing around. We have found that starting a couple of tractors and closing the doors of the haybarn is an effective way of removing the problem. The tractors die a few hours later when they use up their fuel and the cats die shortly after of asphyxiation. We can use the barn for a few days then we have to stay out for a couple weeks until the stink dies down. The hay is not usually affected either.
