I may know a little about tractor history but I am afraid I have had little actual experience with the tractors themselves. We did buy a new Nuffield 10/60 when I was very young and apparently it was a good puller but we had oh so many gearbox problems with it we got rid of it after only a few months. We traded it in for a MF 175. I talk to a man in our village who used to work for a dealers that (oddly enough) sold Fordsons and Nuffields, he told me that last Nuffields were a real pain, whereas before they had an enviable reputation for reliability. As for Leylands I have heard mixed reports. British Leyland themselves became a bit of a joke over here due to wildcat strikes at the factory and a reputation for unreliable cars, tractors and trucks. They are history now, the marque has disappeared. They did build a few equal wheeled 4 wheel drive tractors but the story goes they had a nasty habit of breaking in half!
