MSB your close but not right. The type you are talking about are on the utility tractors only.
Chris, the timing cover on a JD 4320 is not a small hole on the cab. It is located on the right side of the clutch housing. It is about six inches under and in front of the brake pedals, right in front of the brake valve. It is about two inches long and one inch tall. It has Flat screw driver slotted bolts on the top right and bottom left corners. It has a cork gasket under it too. There is a mark on the clutch housing under the cover. The flywheel has a straight line across the out side face that is marked TDC. You should be able to get to the cover under the right front corner of the cab.
