bill there are a couple farms of that nature down my way in ct. when i'm up visiting my inlaws out in cny there is a small farm similar to the 1 in the article that i frequently visit their small store at the farm. as for the small farms back in my area i think for the most part they are managing quite well, most are not dairys but a couple are. although i'm not sure what will happen to them if/ when the fda starts craking down on the food regs. which is going to happen to many small time producers, according to my brother who is in the dairy industry. i would much rather see a small farm or preserved open space around then a housing developement. easier on the eyes and easier on the towns/ county folks pockets tax wise.
