I was born in the front seat of a Model T Ford, Jan 6, 1944,and obviously don"t remember WWII, but have always been fascinated with it....,especially after finishing paratrooper school in 1965, going to the Special Forces Training Group in Ft. Bragg, NC., getting to Training Group in the wee hours of the morning, walking down the halls, looking at the jumps at St. Mere Iglese, Salerno, D-Day, Market Garden, and others...thinking...what a legacy that we have to live up to! Our predecessors did so much for us.....we need to do the same to honor them. Without them, we would not be here! Or, certainly not speaking English.

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents.
