Tom, I envy all you people with the "green thumbs"! Regarding your Mockingbird; I don"t have them here in upstate NY but when I lived in the Mid-Hudson valley, we had them. You say they sing all day........my experience has been they sing all night as well! I have been wakened at 2:00 AM by one in the very top of a large maple tree near my bedroom window singing the tune of just about every bird you could think of. Some have an amazing repertoire. I miss them. The closest thing I have here is the Catbird, some of which do imitate some birds but generally just do the cat sound.
