hd diesel oil is rate with the cxxx rating for compression engines, but is also rated with Sxxx for spark engines... meaning it will run well in both engines...
this hd oil has lots of additives for wear, friction, piston scuffing, valve lash, ring coking, and about 30 other problems for heavy duty engine use.
using a 30 wt oil with little or no additives is not a wise decision. when 30 wt oils where the only oils in the 50s.. engines had to have valve jobs at 40,000 and overhauls at 60000 miles..
oils have improved.. so why would you use a 1950s oil?
