Yeah, when I was a kid, feed came in 100# sacks- dad just threw them up on his shoulder and headed for the barn. By the time I got on my own, they were 80#, I did the same. Now they're down to 50#, and that's about all I want. I think the reduced size is for 2 reasons- most of the sacked grain is handled by horse women/girls now, and less "sticker shock".
We had an 8N with a loader, and the loader was never off for the 40 years dad owned it. He often said he didn't see how anyone could farm without a loader tractor- he used it for lifting, carrying the fencing tools, block it up with a cedar fencepost and hang a block and tackle off of it, etc.
