While I was cutting first field yesterday, felt a downblast of cooler wind, thought I was going to get caught in a thunderstorm. Called son to check radar, - nothing showing, and clouds abated a bit. Finished cutting late in the evening, so not much drying overnight. Went back in and raked today. Some was showing good signs of drying. Maybe baleable tomorrow afternoon. When I was checking field a few weeks back, there was a beautiful growth of alfalfa, and some clover. Was seeded last season, along with an oat crop. By the time I got to cutting it there was a large presence of weeds, particularly a weed we used to call "pepper grass." Doesn't make good hay, and animals don't much care for it. Disappointment, but you gotta get it off. Just hope the stuff will dry enough to bale tomorrow. Gotta work Tuesday.
