You just can't make this stuff up.....
have a wagon with wooden running gear (posted pics of it before).....
Just loosely advertised it on a couple of forums here for 400 bucks (half what anything with a metal running gear in sad shape would go for...
Had a guy PM me asking my last word on the price because "it needs a lot of work".....torqued me right away but I asked him what he wanted to pay... Said he was only a short distance away and would like to see it and set up a time for the weekend..... So, today while I was taking off my flat wheel/tire, a big mercedes pulls up (a neighbor told him where to find me) . guy gets out carrying a bible, turns out to be the guy for the wagon..... Got a kick out of him but kept a straight face (people skills ya know....) and told him we'd have to go about 3km to see the wagon. Jumped on the quad and led him the long way around on the gravel (dusty) road and to about 300 yds from the wagon. Said he could get on the quad with me or drive his car. He rode with me, bible and all...
Got to the wagon and it started immediately with (best translation) "oh boy.... look at this, jada jada........" walked around, opened the bible like he was reading a little.mumbled something and came back & said " not worth much but I guess you need the money.....I can give you a hundred bucks....
Told him to hold that bible real tight and ask god for a ride back to his car and and I'd just cut the wagon up for firewood ..... then left him there jabbering.............
