Don't remember the whole proceedure without looking at the book, but on my buddies truck you turned the key switch on and off several times in a cetrain way to make it prime itself but not start. Once primed I always start one and run about half throttle for awhile to make sure the air is out of the system. Like I said once the filters were changed he drove the truck for several weeks before the problem happened and he took it to the dealer. They said the air had to have gotten into the system when the filters were changed as they couldn't think of any other way for it to have gotten in there. Even so they couldn't explain why it hadn't primed properly to start with nor why he was able to drive it for so long before it showed up as a problem.
