just curious,why fight your ignition,throw money away,if the carbs loading up and killing you?first check all three fuel filters,yes three,open drain on carb and check for water in fuel and a good fuel flow.if that dont fix it spend the 20 bucks for a carb kit,and CLEAN the jets and related passages,you can have perfect fuel flow through the needle in a marvel carb and not get one drop of fuel to your engine.if its flooding ,check for a hole in your float.pull hose off from air cleaner and see if it helps,after 60 years it bound to be full of dirt.if its flooding no amount of work on ignition will fix it,your simply whipping the wrong mule.one single drop of water in the bottom of a marvel carb will kill it dead simply because ALL the fuel ,every single drop the engine uses feeds through a passage in bottom of carb.one speck of dirt,or rust will do the same.
