Parke County Indiana claims to be the covered bridge capital of the world. There are approximately 31 covered bridges within the county. Rockville is the nearest town large enough to have hotels and other services, this is where I usually stay when visiting the area. There is the old jail hosue that is now a hotel if one would like to sleep in a jail - yes they give you the key and the bathroom is down the hall.
