I'd pull start it once you are sure the wires are correct. These tractors have notoriously temperamental electrical systems. I'd guess if the diode pack wasnt already blown it was by the wire reversal. Thats why you cant ever find a grill for one, everyone leaves them out so you can jump them easier.
