Also----new wringer washing machines are being made with stainless steel tubs. Overseas mfg. if I recall correctly.
We didn't have a Maytag, but instead ours was sort of a Cadillac and was called a Twin-tub Dexter. The two tubs were for wash water and rinse water. Haven't a clue why more weren't built that way unless it was because they required more storage space.
