If "they" will never use onstar to track you, and you do not subscribe, there is no harm whatsoever in removing it`s ability to function. I do agree that if onstar bothers you I would stick to an older truck anyway, that is why I drive a `69. The folks that say the only reason to disable it is if you are doing something bad, are the ones that will be easy to convince that "they" need everyone to have something similar to onstar to keep bad things from happening. Our rights and freedoms are being eroded every day, and the attitude that they are not because there are no black helicoopters or men in black around is exactly what is being used to accomplish that. It is not a vast conspiracy, led by evil people, though it may give power to evil from time to time, but merely a function of human fear and desire for protection.
