its sure dry,,i think you have more rain than we have and what you have had has not been enough.i was going to plant about 25 acres or so of alfalfa,but if i wait much longer and i can forget it this year or winter will kill it.so i may just drill in some oats for the winter and see what happens.probably could drill them in right in the wheat stubble and they are fairly cheap.or just wait on rain and drill in wheat,ive seen wheat planted late nov early dec make a crop but your harvesting way up in summer.probably the smartest thing to do would be to fold our seed money up and put it back in our pocket this fall!my old farmers soul just hates to see bare ground though!LOL it so dry out west i saw a cactus drinking out of a dogs bowl.
