My family has been GM forever. I'm currently driving a 3/4 ton with 502,000 miles on it, never been in a shop. I love my Chevy, but I won't buy another. That's because the CEO of GM came out a month or two ago saying he wants the government to raise the gasoline tax by $1.00 or more to encourage us to buy smaller cars. That's all it took for me. Who the hell is GM or the CEO to tell me what I should drive? Or how much the federal excise tax should be? I'm switching to Ford. Can't believe I'm saying that, but we have to make a stand somewhere sometime.
