I said this out loud once..... never again. I went to work right after dragging a dead sow out of the farrowing house., divided up the pigs on other sows and everything else seemed OK. I mentioned the what else can go wrong today thing at work..... got home to another dead sow that night.
The next morning when the vet was there doing post mortems on the sows, my dad stopped in and said my brothers dog was dead, they were on vacation and me and dad were taking care of the pooch.
The 3 deaths were unrelated, one sow blew out a heart valve, the other one had torn her uterus while farrowing but never bled externally..... the dog, we'll never know. We always said he died of a broken heart because the whole family left him for the first time.
Anyhoo, look for the bright side of the day. You went to a game and got home safely. All the trips you had to make to town got you back home in one piece.........
