I own a repair shop, it may be a little more hassle for me sometimes, but thats why I itemize out every bill. It helps alot especially when you have customers who have been taken by another shop. They can walk in and before they write a check out, you can show them every part you replaced and why you replaced it.
But, in my line of work doing mostly transmissions, I rely heavily on word of mouth and referals.
