Had a strong hailstorm move through here about a month ago. Just today got my WildBlue satellite internet back up and working after only 5 weeks and 20 phone calls. So thats two things to sheck off the list, the new roof and the satellite dish. Now to fix the windows, siding, deck, shop roof, storage shed roof, new carpet in two bedrooms from broken windows, new sheet rock and paint and I should be done! The crops around here took a BEATING, the soybeans across the road were just stalks about 6" tall, and the corn was mostly smapped off just above the ears. However about 5 miles south the cornstalks were just little nubs sticking out of the ground, and the beanfields were just dirt fields with no sign of stubble in them. I would guess it was about 5 miles wide and went for maybe 40 miles with varying degrees of damage. Near Yankton South Dakota they estimated 12,000 acres damaged and this did not include Nebraska. Thank god for basements and insurance!
