I think you are on the right track, and it shows you are alot more open minded than the average. Yes we must fix the problem if posible.
At our show, I sugested letting the kids get involved---not just park cars, and pick up the trash. Have them help start the tractor, drive it, and help with problems related to the tractors / engines.
We as a group are very narrow minded, and refuse new ideas----then we must ask ouselves---and how is are plan working out so far?
Our local town has a big fourth of July doings, and after the parade, the young kids go to the river, or elsewhere. A lady that is on the boosters board ask me what they could posibly do to keep the kids in town after the parade? She then proceded to explain they were studying the issue in great detail, and just did not understand. Why, we even have POLKA MUSIC in the park for them! (She was actualy sober when she made the statment). I never even suggested anything, as I would of felt foolish trying to explain some of the problem.
At a antique show, if you let little Johnny help operate a steam tractor, tractor, gas engine etc. A lot of the relatives will come, (pay admition, and buy some food) just to take a picture of little Johnny-------Hummmmmmmmm?
