Guess I can see how it would happen- we're not very good at my place about leaving doors closed in the summer- bear takes after dog, dog runs in house, bear follows, things quickly degenerate from there.
As bear is coming in the back door, you want to be heading out the front door, ASAP. Arguments about property rights, rights of ownership, "man's home is his castle", etc. become academic at that point. Strategically placed gun is great, if you can get to it. Otherwise, SCRAM!
