Called the number and you certainly "nailed it". Seems they have always been owned by Altofer and just relocated the shop to the new CAT facility. They apparently had two other Roosa pumps in-house that had failed due to bad fuel. I've used FS diesel X gold which is marketed as a premium product containing a complete additive package. The original delivery man that retired last year also claimed he could still get old high sulfur fuel for off- road use and that was ordered. It certainly doesn't smell like the old product and perhaps it is really low sulfur, but would be surprised if ultra low sulfur. I could even be paying for a premium product and just getting bulk run stuff. No good way to know unless something fails. Assuming it wasn't a fuel related problem, I am disappointed in the pump failure. Spent $750 which is roughly $2.50/service meter hour. They certainly weren't an economy rebuild outfit and didn't replace the "head" because it was in excellent shape. Believe they said it would have cost an additional $1500 for a head replacement. Will call the Indiana outfit before making a decision. Took it out today and it rotates a couple of degrees and then locks up.
